The official Japanese Pokémon Web site has announced Oak's Letter, a key item which allows access to a wild Shaymin in Pokémon Platinum, will be distributed via Wi-Fi to Platinum owners in spring 2009. The item gives players access to the Flower Paradise, where a level 30 Shaymin is available for capture.
Serebii.net has reported that if a Platinum player has not already unlocked the Glacidea Flower key item, this Shaymin will not trigger the item's availability in the game. However, if the player already owns the item, it will successfully transform Shaymin to its Sky Forme.
