Welcome!

Month abbreviations

Hi, thanks for the good work you have been doing lately, since I've been real busy IRL. Just one thing — not every month is abbreviated. Check the manual of style... Jan. Feb. March April May June July Aug. Sept. Oct. Nov. Dec. Thanks! --Argy 06:23, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. It's really more peaceful here. *tc26* 07:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

You

AIM, got it?--RexRacer 00:41, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Not at the moment, but I could I guess. tc²₆tc26 09:55, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
What about MSN? Yahoo? Could you get on IRC? XD--RexRacer 21:23, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
I have Yahoo tc²₆tc26 10:42, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
I assume you also have access to the development forum on BMGf? That largely explains what Rex wanted to discuss. —darklordtrom 09:57, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
This thread? tc²₆tc26 10:34, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Indeed. —darklordtrom 11:32, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Check your PMs!--RexRacer 02:56, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Check your PMs on YIM, please? Thanks, Ҝəυzø8 11:39, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Redirects

It's probably best not to delete the redirects that are created when you move an article to a new title. If they're deleted, they'll break URLs in the news reporting forum. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 12:17, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

This page

Pokémon sprites, art evolve over the years, Part 2. I'd like to edit it, but as part of Bulbanews format, I can't edit it. I realize that. However, there is a file I want to change: Raikou's. The current file (Sugimori art) is in jpg, while the one back in Archives is in png. Please change it so it is consistent. Thanks. ht14 16:17, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

There is no Sugimori art there... only anime art.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity* was here at 17:05, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I misread it... ht14 17:06, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

this comment...

Were you referring to the Arceus movie thing? You put movie 10 and 11 leading up to movie 12's JP premiere, and those definitely were not the first time those movies aired...--immewnitythemew 14:38, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Good point, so I'm not sure what to do with movies. tc²₆tc26 17:12, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Why?

Why won't you at least mention Flint in the title? I don't care if it's the tag line. His appearance is just as important. We all knew Volkner would eventually appear. The appearance of an Elite Four member is special. --Kenji-girl 16:36, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm not against it, but as I said, he's already in the tagline, so it would have been repetitive. Change the tagline first and then add him to the title. tc²₆tc26 09:47, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Having the Ō in page titles causes problems, though. —darklordtrom 10:29, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Where? In the forums? So we'll use Ooba? tc²₆tc26 12:40, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
No, here on the wiki. For whatever reason, the nonalphanumeric characters won't work with the redirect system. I don't know about any forum issues. Ooba seems a good compromise. —darklordtrom 06:12, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

new article

are you going to move it to the mainspace Maverick Nate 15:38, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

I'll let Kevz do it. There might be some missing info, and I'll be going soon. Why'd you ask? tc²₆tc26 15:42, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm talking about it with evan. He gives the green light, it just needs to have the rumor tag on it. Maverick Nate 15:45, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
I've heard CoroCoro has been released five days early from the usual release date, so maybe it's not just a rumor anymore. Ҝəυzø8 15:47, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, then maybe the rumor tag may not be needed. Maverick Nate 15:49, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the mistakes, I mucked up with different info coming from the net + I'm drowsy. Got to go to sleep, bye guys~ Ҝəυzø8 15:50, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

A Suggestion :)

Hey TC, can you please add DP147 "Bagged then Tagged", DP168 & DP169 in the list. I noticed that the list wasn't updated yesterday that's why I thought I should inform you. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:27, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for bugging you again, DP148 to 151 are also revealed + new temp pics for 168 & 169 are also available (these things to be updated). Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:48, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Done. Thanks. Ҝəυzø8 09:20, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
My pleasure. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 16:32, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Again, time to update upcoming episodes list.
  • Replace the Dawn pic with [[File:DP175 temp.png]] and similarly DP176, 177 and 178.
  • Remove DP153 & 154 from the dub list and add DP156 in the titles. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 11:17, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that. Been away for like a month. tc²₆tc26 04:01, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
No problem. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 05:38, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Hey Tc, DP159 is missing in the upcoming english episodes section. Can you add it please? Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:50, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion

Lose the sponsored section. It's a bit old-fashioned and largely irrelevant, which is one of the reasons why BP dropped it. —darklordtrom 05:34, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Ugh. Fully did see what I did on that usertalk page. Thanks for fixing it. For future reference, redlinked pages to the userspace (incl. subpages) do not end up on the Wanted list. —darklordtrom 10:30, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Pokebeach says the starter names weren't revealed. Publish if you haven't done so already. —darklordtrom 11:12, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah. I was just keeping you in the loop. Because you're staff on all three wikis, you wouldn't have got the notice when you tried to do anything (except Archives, which was superlocked). —darklordtrom 05:43, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
I actually never notice if this one's locked. 'pedia usually has a notice on top. tc²₆tc26 06:22, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Update...

Hey TC, I think it's time to update the upcoming episode list. It has been few weeks since the last time it was updated. So, kindly update it if you don't mind. Thank you :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 12:58, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

October CoroCoro begins to leak

When you're finished there, or before you go away for any length of time, delete that page and recreate it with the coding you're doing now, at a slightly different name. We've got a weird error with the RSS on that one, looks like it happened due to some edit made to the story after it was moved out of draft. Not sure what the exact issue is, but this is a work-around we've used before. --Archaic 13:08, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Roundy vs. moz-border-radius

Could you make sure to use {{roundy}}, please, when putting tables into articles. This lets everyone (except those stalwarts on IE) see the roundiness. It works just the same was as -m-b-r. Cheers. —darklordtrom 11:21, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

The white space on the RHS of the article template

Have you tried hovering over the green bar? —darklordtrom 21:59, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Draft:Anime in Indian subcontinent shifted to Pogo

It is trom-approved already, there is no point in moving it back to draft. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 08:59, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

I see no harm with reporting wider afield, especially with the current lull in news. The original title probably wasn't the best though. —darklordtrom 10:47, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Question concerning a file removed from a story I started...

Why'd you take out this file and replace it with this file?
~~LDEJRuff~~ 4:05, 8 July, 2011 (EDT)

It's an article about a new C-Gear skin, not Pikachu. Logically a picture of the skin should be there. The way it was before would be like reporting an article on a new feature of Castelia City and using a picture of a generic port city. But keep on submitting articles kid, we always need writers. --RexRacer 18:41, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Promotion

You said that it is always capitalized. I did some research, and found this, this, and mot importantly this conflict with that. The second one does capitalize it when referring to the "Promotions page", but not when referring to the promotions themselves. Likewise, this and this capitalize "Promotions" when referring to the Promotions page. This does not, which leads me to assume that this is a new standard. I'm pretty sure the only reason it is capitalized is because it's referring to a page. --SnorlaxMonster 08:51, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

I first thought it was kind of like a retcon thing, but yeah, your points make sense :D tc²₆tc26 00:41, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

The Pokémon Global Link

Actually, I have done a fair amount of research into this, and it is always prefaced by "the" when used in a sentence:

I could also find many more examples on the Pokémon Global Link website, Pokémon.com and in the BW instruction booklet if I wanted as well. If I say that something does/doesn't take "the", I have usually done my research. --SnorlaxMonster 02:20, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Style

Can I recruit you to help out with updating Bulbanews:Article submission? You seem to be good at remembering the finicky bits of article submission that I always forget. We're trying to make things clearer for new contributors and I think you'd be a great help. Things like what happened today with that article title, and anything else you can think of... add them somewhere. Reorganize the page if you think it'll help. Cheers. —darklordtrom 11:06, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Sure, no problem, though you may want to update this and this with the changes you made and all :) tc²₆tc26 04:14, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm working my way around, slowly. Thanks for your help. :D —darklordtrom 10:18, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Japanese (English)

Remember the style when reporting an article about a Japanese event is Japanese (English). I know it's a pain but we should still do it. Thanks man--RexRacer 15:12, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

They show those clips after certain episodes premiere in Japan, like one-hour specials. In short, after the TV show. :) tc²₆tc26 00:49, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
  • yeah I mean do you have a link to show me this in jap or the full ep with this on the end? Prinben 22:19, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
I believe that tc watches the show via KeyHole TV, so no, a recorded version is not legally available, unless TV Tokyo posted it online themselves.--immewnitythemew 23:08, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Filb has it. --P S Yライダー 23:38, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
True and true, though I think TV Tokyo never actually posts stuff like that. Best to wait for Filb a few hours after the episode airs. :) tc²₆tc26 08:25, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Why?

Why did you delete the user_fa tag - unsigned comment from Alipikachu (talkcontribs)

You're not allowed to make language-related user tags on your own (or any user tag template for that matter, especially here). tc²₆tc26 08:25, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Question

Do we weclome new users on bulbanews? I'm just wondering before I do them and look stupid haha. Thanks :) Pokemaster97 02:58, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

I think it just became "welcome them if they make an edit/article" or something like that some time ago. Best try asking this guy :D tc²₆tc26 05:39, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Poison Jab Croagunk

As I mentioned in my move summary, PGL neglects to even mention that it has Poison Touch, but it is specifically identified as having Poison Jab. PGL also mentions that other Croagunk found in the Rugged Mountain area will not know Poison Jab. In addition, knowing Poison Jab makes it different to the Japanese event, in which the Croagunk did not know Poison Jab. It is considered a special move by the Pokémon Global Link as it is at a different level (10), and TM moves are considered special. --SnorlaxMonster 13:12, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello

I'm sorry, it was my fault actually. I forgot about the new style and didn't remove the source link on the bottom. Looked fine to me so I moved it. Though, I guess I should have reviewed it for one last time before moving it. Hopefully, I'll keep that in mind the next time. Thanks, have a nice day :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 19:38, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

It's nice. Got used to it so much that I'm not mad at anyone specific really :) tc²₆tc26 08:23, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
Done with the Japanese distributions, check it out. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:14, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

Articles

Hey! Here's what I found.

For the Dragons, you can only get one egg per event, which I updated.

In regards to the rule change, there is zero information about any sort of legendary Pokémon ban. I have no idea where Serebii pulled that one from. The entire thing pretty much says make sure you only have legit Pokémon with legit moves, otherwise we aren't going to let you play. Even the dark void thing is barely mentioned.

The link you gave me to the 15th movie info was the same link to the rule changes. There didn't seem to be any other articles regarding it, and I couldn't find anything else on the internet about it.

Hope this helps, and let me know if you need anything else!--BaileyPlaysPokemon 15:24, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for all the help! For the movie, here's the link to the official site, though I remember that the initial announcement was for an update on the 17th, tomorrow, so something may pop up within the next few hours (or now since it's the 17 in Japan already). For the rule changes, I think it's related to the new banlist for the 2012 world championships, which allows Gen I-IV Pokémon. Any mention of the WC/VGC perhaps? tc²₆tc26 15:36, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Other than saying that these rules will be added to any upcoming competitions, no. Even Serebii's alleged "new list" of banned Pokémon didn't have any changes from the current one. I literally can find nothing on it anywhere on the internet, be it Japanese or English. --BaileyPlaysPokemon 15:57, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! BW (the games themselves) says only the following are banned though, meaning these are the ones from the beginning. No idea if changes were made over the year besides Sky Drop. List: Pokémon eggs, Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Chatot, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. Note: No Dialga. :)tc²₆tc26 16:17, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
I never use the wi-fi, but I was basing it off of their most recent tournament. That list was the same, but it included Dialga, and did not include Chatot. Strange that the other one doesn't include Dialga. But I will keep my eyes open for any future changes to the list! --BaileyPlaysPokemon 16:30, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Blurb, tagline editing

Please refrain from changing this multiple times for the same article. Unless there's something awful, like a spelling mistake or wrong information, this should generally be left alone. When these sections are edited, the RSS feeds update again because they think we've published something new. We don't need to inform people three or four times about the same piece of news, as this looks messy and can reflect poorly upon the site. If you really really must change it, try and do it in one edit. —darklordtrom 06:01, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

I am quite aware of that, and I am sorry for doing that several consecutive times the last time. I really try to avoid changing when it's quite miss-able, but most often than not, the mistakes are repetitive, making them hard for me to ignore anymore. Hope you understand my point. :) tc²₆tc26 09:09, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
I can see it from your side, but rather than edit warring, talk it out with the writers who are making the mistakes and explain to them what the problem is. —darklordtrom 12:52, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
A lot of what you change is based on your personal style of writing. Since we are both on the same level of writer (and since the way it appears is that you are trying to pull some sort of authority in the grammar police that you don't have over me), you should come to me with your possible rewording changes and whatnot to my articles, and I will make the changes to my articles as I see fit. Maverick Nate 23:52, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Fair enough, mostly because the TCG is your department. Common/repeated thing to note though: no and/the/a/an in titles and taglines. That alone can save a lot. :) 12:00, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Tc

Out of curiosity, what exactly is missing from this article? The article looks complete and well written to me. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 12:18, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

When I read Dogasu's forum post, it was kinda implied that the translation was not all of it, so I didn't move it. As of today, the website updated with the CoroCoro info apparently, so there may be more to it than what was in the scans. That's it, really :D tc²₆tc26 12:54, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
I see. Well the CoroCoro has the same info. Also, it is mentioned that some new info regarding M14 will be revealed in the March issue. With the exception of the warrior leaders, Ponigiri and items' update, there isn't anything new in the edition. Besides, if anything else comes up, we can always update the article *. So, we can safely move the article :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 13:08, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Forgot one thing, I think it will be safe if we avoid using Pokejungle's info. It might not be 100% factual, just like other fansites. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 13:12, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Official site, might be helpful :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 13:16, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
You meant M15, right? We can add that in, like that announcement about an announcement thing a while back. Go ahead with pokejungle, though try checking back with Dogasu if those were actually there, and I know of the site. Checked it a while a go, but too tired and sick* to "decipher" anything. Again, try checking with someone better in Japanese :) Thanks! tc²₆tc26 14:43, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Hello

I particularly mentioned it in the edit summary that do not change the names, you could have at least asked me before changing them. It was kind of a testing experiment before we start working on the revised policy. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 02:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello

Tc, can you please check your Yahoo inbox? I will be awaiting for your reply, thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 18:19, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Article move

Was it really necessary to move this article for the sake of a stylistic choice you happened to disagree with? In doing so you caused Bulbabot to re-tweet the exact same story, and created a duplicate thread in the forums which had to be merged. I can understand doing it if there's something actually wrong with the article, but this is purely a matter of preferred style, and I think you need a better justification than that to be triggering these complications. George Hutcheon 03:46, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Seriously?

By all means, add to the articles if they need it; this one was put up in quite a rush. But once again, you've been editing titles with no thought for the problems such action causes. In this case, your edits left the front page containing a dead link to where the article used to be, as well as the usual problems with the story being retweeted under a slightly different name and reposted to the forums. I would like to discuss this with you, but I can't if you continue to ignore your talk page messages. Please respond to this. George Hutcheon 01:48, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

In addition, it was not necessary to change the date of publication for the article. Our articles are dated by Bulbagarden time (UTC, I believe), not Japanese time. While the times were a few minutes out of whack due to the delay between initial draft and publication, the article did indeed go up on June 2, standard Bulba time. By editing this, all you've achieved is making it look like we reported this later than we actually did. George Hutcheon 01:56, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
