The 2015 Championship Series for both the TCG and the video games have been announced.

2015 TCG Championship Series

The 2015 TCG Championship Series will use the 2015 Standard format, although some select tournaments will use the Expanded format.

At Regional Championship events, players will use the Standard format on the first day and the Expanded format on the second day. Players will be able to change their decks on the second day, but don't have to since all Standard format decks are legal in the Expanded format.

The planned schedule is as follows:

2015 North American Season Outline
  • August 2014 – July 2015: League Challenges
  • October 2014: Autumn Regional Championships
  • November 2014 – January 2015: City Championships
  • February 2015: Winter Regional Championships
  • March–April 2015: State/Province Championships
  • May 2015: Spring Regional Championships
  • June–July 2015: National Championships

  • August 2014 – July 2015: League Challenges
  • October–December 2014: Regional Championships
  • December 2014 – February 2015: City Championships
  • March–April 2015: Regional Championships
  • May–June 2015: National Championships

2015 Video Game Championship Series

In the 2015 Video Game Championship Series, players will use Pokémon X and Y until January 1, 2015, after which they will use Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Information on Championship points can be found here. In 2015, points for online competitions will not be separated by region but will be awarded to the top 256 players worldwide, per age division.

The planned schedule is as follows:

  • September 2014: Premier Challenge Kickoff Series
  • October 2014: Autumn Regional Championships (US only)
  • November 2014–January 2015: Premier Challenge Alpha Series
  • January 1, 2015: Format switches to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
  • February 2015: Winter Regional Championships (US only)
  • March–May 2015: Premier Challenge Omega Series
  • May 2015: Spring Regional Championships (US only)
  • April–July 2015: National Championships
