Back in January, researchers discovered a new gene while working on curing cancer and they named it after Pokémon. Eleven months on, and Nintendo apparently do not approve of the naming. Information is currently scarce, but Google News cached this from a subscription website: A cancer research institute has been threatened with legal action by the US branch of Japanese video-game franchise Pokémon, after one of its researchers... The title of the news story is Pokémon blocks gene name.
