The wait is over! After a notice went up on Pokémon.com four days ago, fans have been eagerly awaiting the English names for the three starter Pokémon of Pokémon Black and White Versions. The information has since been posted.

Localized names are below. If a European language is not listed below, the names are the same as in English.

English

The Grass-type Tsutarja will be known as Snivy. The Fire-type Pokabu will be known as Tepig. The Water-type Mijumaru will be known as Oshawott.

The Isshu region is also being renamed and will be known in English as Unova. This is the first major renaming for a Pokémon region.

French

The Grass-type Tsutarja will be known as Vipélierre. The Fire-type Pokabu will be known as Gruikui. The Water-type Mijumaru will be known as Moustillon.

The Isshu region is also being renamed and will be known as Unys.

German

The Grass-type Tsutarja will be known as Serpifeu. The Fire-type Pokabu will be known as Floink. The Water-type Mijumaru will be known as Ottaro.

The Isshu region is also being renamed and will be known as Einall.

Spanish

The Isshu region is being renamed and will be known as Teselia.

Italian

The Isshu region is being renamed and will be known as Unima.
