Nintendo HK has announced that they will be holding the Video Game National Championships in both Hong Kong and Taiwan. Winners of these tournaments will be presented with the opportunity to participate in the upcoming 2016 Pokémon World Championships to be held in the US. Interested players must register an account on the Play! Pokémon website to be able to partake in the tournament. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Taiwan Video Game National Championships will be held in Taipei City Mall on June 11, 2016. The event will start at 10:00AM and ends at 8:30PM. Registration on the site starts from 10:00 to 12:00. Preliminaries begins at 1:30PM, while the finals starts at 6:00PM. Only 128 players can partake in this tournament.

The Hong Kong Video Game National Championships will be held in iSQUARE on June 9, 2016. The event will start at 10:00AM and ends at 8:00PM. Registration on the site starts from 10:00 to 11:00. Preliminaries begins at 11:30AM, while the finals starts at 4:45PM. Only 106 players can partake in this tournament.

The Shiny Mewtwo will be made available to contestants and on-site players who own Japanese version of the Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Y or those versions sold in either Taiwan or Hong Kong.

The original Trainer of the level 100 Shiny Mewtwo is Nintendo HK. It knows the moves Psystrike, Psychic, Recover and Aura Sphere, has the Ability Unnerve, and holds the Mewtwonite Y item.
