At the first annual [http://www.seiyuawards.jp/ Seiyu Awards] (声優アワード), the Pokémon anime was awarded the synergy award (シナジー賞).
: ''The Pocket Monsters animated series, which started in April 1997, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year. It has broken box-office records with a total gross of ¥41.4 billion (US$353 million) over nine movies. It furthermore has high ratings overseas, and the television series is broadcast in 68 countries and two regions worldwide as of May 2006. As a production which changed the history of Japanese animation, we give the synergy award to the voice cast that has supported it to this date.''
