The official Japanese Nintendo website has revealed a promotional video of Pokédex 3D Pro. Several new features are shown in the video:
- All Pokémon forms are included, including Arceus's alternate types
- 727 total Pokémon are visually shown
- There is a feature know as Challenge mode, which is a quiz in which players answer various questions on random Pokémon to test their skills
- It tracks when a player has taken a photo of a Pokémon using AR Viewer; if the photos are stored on an SD card, the player can easily access the photos
