Update: Two new qualifying events have been added to the the top of the list.
Today, numerous fan-run "StreetPass" groups in the United Kingdom posted on their respective Facebook pages to inform followers that Nintendo UK are planning to hold a Pokémon X and Y tournament in the near future. Information is still scarce, but when contacted, Nintendo UK confirmed the following details:
- The event will take place in London on Saturday 7 December.
- Anyone can attend the event, but only players who have received an entry ticket can participate in the tournament.
- Entry tickets can be won at participating fan-run StreetPass groups, with the Top 3 in each event receiving a ticket.
The current list of qualifying events is currently as follows:
- University of York Pokémon Society - 29th November, 7pm, Derwent Bar then Black Bull.
- StreetPass Cambridge - 30th November, 11am-6pm, Cambridge Leisure.
- StreetPass Derry - 16th November, 2pm, Java Coffee Shop.
- StreetPass Newcastle- 16th November, 2pm, Ambar, Metrocentre, Gateshead, NE11 9XZ
- StreetPass Portsmouth - 16th November, 12-5pm, Tiger Tiger, Gunwharf Quays, PO1 3TP.
- StreetPass Somerset - 20th November, 6-9pm, Cosy Club Taunton, Hunts Court, Corporation Street, TA1 4AJ. (Limited space, please see event page for details).
- StreetPass Brighton - 23rd November, 12-2:30pm, Ohso Social, 250A Kings Road Arches, BN1 1NB.
- StreetPass South Wales - 23rd November, 1pm, Swansea YMCA, 1 The Kingsway, Swansea, SA1 5JQ.
- StreetPass North Wales - 24th November, 2-4pm, Academi - Deinol Road, Bangor, LL57 2UW.
- StreetPass Leeds - 24th November, 11-4pm, Tiger Tiger - The Light, 117 Albion Street, LS2 8DY.
- StreetPass Derby - 30th November, 12pm, Walkabout, 9-11 Market Place, DE1 3QE.
- StreetPass Northampton - 30th November, 1:30-4pm, Costa Express, Grosvenor Centre.
