Pokéteca was founded on September 1, 2008 by Habieru who wanted to start a Pokémon Wiki for the Spanish fans of the series. It was started so the fans could have to have a decent wiki. Pokéteca, a Spanish Pokémon wiki, has joined Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis, a group of Pokémon wikis in multiple languages. The Spanish-language Wiki currently holds over 1,000 articles specializes in various Pokémon media. The site is run by Another Bulbagarden project, Bulbapedia, is the English-language wiki of Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis.
