The elemental monkeys may have English names - and just in time for Christmas. Grainy and blurred photographs of a display box have wound up on the internet. However, they are of low quality and the names are not yet considered official.
If examined closely, it appears that the Grass-type Yanappu has been localized as "Pansage", the Fire-type Baoppu will be known as "Pansear", and the Water-type Hiyappu will become "Panpour". The scans show clearly that new character N is to keep his Japanese name.
Bulbanews will update if these names can be confirmed true. Regardless, the names fit the trio nicely: the prefix "pan" relates not only to Chimpanzee and a genus of monkey, but also can be used to indicate members of a group.
Yanappu, Baoppu, Hiyappu, and N debut in the fifth generation games Pokémon Black and White, which is expected to have a late April release.
