Ken Watanabe will feature in the upcoming live-action movie, Detective Pikachu. He will play Detective Yoshida, a character specifically created for the movie.
Watanabe was nominated for an Oscar for his work in The Last Samurai. He has previously worked with Legendary Entertainment on Godzilla (2014) and the upcoming film Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
Other actors confirmed to appear in the film are Justice Smith, who will play the male lead, and Kathryn Newton, who will play the female lead Lucy. Ryan Reynolds will voice Detective Pikachu.
