Pokemon.com has announced that there will be a series Pokémon video game tournaments, leading up to a video game world championship to be held in August in San Diego, CA alongside the Pokémon TCG World Championship. Few details were given, but the article states that the battles will be 2-on-2 with a maximum level of 50 for each Pokémon, and that participants will need a copy of Pokémon Platinum to participate.
