Talk:Editorial: Why Nintendo needs to go region free
I actually like this article. A lot.
I, for one, really like what this article says. It coincides with my opinions in many ways, and I also believe that region-free gaming would benefit everyone, in every town, city, village, settlement, or what-have-you, in every country around the world. But that's not the main reason I like this article. The reason why I like it so much is that it mentions Project Diva F's being brought to the US and Europe, due to how popular the idea of globalizing it was. Here's an article on SEGA's blog about the subject:
http://blogs.sega.com/2013/06/06/announcing-hatsune-miku-project-diva-f-for-western-release/
Just to let everyone get a better feel for how popular Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid as a whole is, Miku's concert on March 9, 2013 (because "39" in Japanese spells "Miku") in Kansai, Japan sold out over a year earlier and people that had tickets came from around the world to attend! I, for one, am a HUGE fan of 初音ミク ("Hatsune Miku" in Japanese), along with all things relating to Vocaloid (I have numerous versions of all the Vocaloid-related freeware I could find, just to prove my point), and seeing Project Diva F be referred to in the slightest INSTANTLY made this my favorite article on Bulbanews by far.
HOWEVER, Hatsune Miku IS NOT the mascot of Vocaloid as a whole. She's just the most popular and well-known Vocaloid in existence, and the world's most popular virtual singer altogether. This was the only problem I found within the article.
I can GUARANTEE that numerous references to Vocaloid will be made on my Bulbapedia Userpage, once it's complete.
And here are a few more Vocaloid-related things to inform y'all about the subject. Read as many (or as few) as you want to. I don't mind if you choose not to. Make your own choices is all I'm saiyan.
- Hatsune Miku's official profile page (Page created by Crypton Future Media, Inc., the company that created Miku in the first place.)
- Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F Announcement Trailer (video) (Video posted by SEGA, creators of all the Vocaloid videogames for PS3, PSP, PSVita, and 3DS.)
- The Official Website for the Vocaloid, V2, and V3 Speech Synthesizer Engine (Website created by Yamaha, the developers of the Vocaloid, Vocaloid2, and Vocaloid3 engines.)
- Wikipedia's article on Vocaloid
- Wikipedia's article on Hatsune Miku
- Wikipedia's article on MikuMikuDance (I make frequent edits to the page to keep it up-to-date.)
So, yeah. That's pretty much all I have to say. Great article overall. Vocaloid makes everything better. (I even think Meloetta resembles a Vocaloid! Perhaps it's a Pokaloid?)
Stay awesome, my friends. 〜Pikachu9000 17:44, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
