Trademarks and logos for games titled "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" have been discovered on the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), a European trademark registry.
The trademarks were filed on Feb. 25, 2016 by Nintendo Co., Ltd. (with the same owner ID number as several other Pokémon titles, such as Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon Link: Battle!). The trademarks are currently under examination and have not yet been registered.
While Pokémon rights holders have filed trademarks for several unused potential Pokémon game titles with the Japan Patent Office, all of the other trademarks filed with the OHIM have been used. The only other Pokémon games with non-generic logos that have trademarks filed with the OHIM are Pokémon X and Y.
Some fans speculate that these trademarks correspond to new games that will be announced during the Pokémon Direct tomorrow. This is unconfirmed at this time.
