Yesterday, the official Pokémon website announced the "2011 Autumn Friendly" - a Wi-Fi tournament for international (non-Japanese) players of Pokémon Black and White.
In order to participate, a player needs a Pokémon Trainer Club account and to have access to the Pokémon Battle Union section of the Pokémon Global Link website. Sign ups will be running from 12-19 October, with a limited 10,000 spaces. The actual tournament will take place over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection from the 20th until the 24th.
The ruleset for this tournament will be that of the 2011 Video Game Championship events; using the standard VGC Double-Flat Battle rules and the only eligible Pokémon being those found in the Unova Pokédex (with the exception of Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta and Genesect).
