Pokémon.com has revealed information regarding the Trading Card Game Modified Format for the 2011-2012 season. While the current format allows the use from Majestic Dawn onwards, the new format will only allow cards from HeartGold and SoulSilver (TCG) onwards.

Due to the recent rule changes following the release of the Black & White set, The Pokémon Company International are considering launching this new format on July 1st instead of the usual September 1st, although a final decision will be made in June.
