The August issue of Ciao magazine, a shoujo manga publication, comes with a DVD containing a seven-minute Pokémon anime short. Sing, Meloetta: Search for the Rinka Berries features Pikachu and Snivy on a quest to restore Meloetta's singing voice.

Meowth and Wobbuffet appear as antagonists, and the short also features Pokémon such as Snorlax, Chikorita, Oshawott and Piplup. Shoko Nakagawa is credited for a voice-over role. The short is said to be a "prequel" to Meloetta's Glittery Recital, which will be screened along with the movie Kyurem VS the Sacred Swordsman: Keldeo in Japanese theaters from July 14.

Ciao magazine is published by Shōgakukan, which also publishes CoroCoro magazine. Yumi Tsukirino's shoujo-themed Pokémon manga, Magical Pokémon Journey and Pokémon Chamo-Chamo ☆ Pretty ♪, were originally published in Ciao magazine. The latest issue was released on July 3.
