Herman Cain once again quoted Pokémon the Movie 2000 in a speech submitting his resignation from the 2012 Republican Presidential Race yesterday, citing a line from The Power of One. In a previous speech, Herman Cain used the same quotation, but incorrectly attributed it to "a poet."

Cain stated towards the tail end of his speech, “I believe these words came from the Pokémon movie. Life can be a challenge. Life can seem impossible. It’s never easy when there’s so much on the line. But you and I can make a difference. There’s a mission just for you and me.”

The lines have becoming a running joke for Cain's campaign, as Cain ended a Republican debate in August with the same quotation. Instead of acknowledging it was from Pokémon, however, he stated that the line was from "a poet." He later claimed that he had heard the song over a montage following the 2000 Summer Olympics.
