Several official Japanese Pokémon sites have updated with information regarding upcoming events involving Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

According to the official Pokémon site, another area for the PokéWalker will be distributed by Japanese Pokémon Center stores from Nov. 14 to Jan. 11. The name 「おかいもの」 Shopping was given, so it is currently unknown if this is the actual name of the area. Unlike the first two areas announced for the pedometer, there was no artwork or other information given by the site. The first event-only area announced, the Yellow Forest, will still be available to players of HeartGold and SoulSilver until Nov. 10. On the other hand, the second area, the Champ Road, previously reported as the Road of the Champs, will be available from Oct. 17 to Dec. 27 during the Japanese Battle Challenge event. No announcement for the Wi-Fi distribution of this area has been announced.

The official Pokémon World Championship 2010 site also updated with information on distributions. Players who enter the upcoming 2010 Pokémon Video Game World Championships can get a shiny Eevee. Due to the championships only allowing the use of HeartGold and SoulSilver, this Eevee cannot be downloaded onto Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Those who enter the Pokémon TCG World Championships can obtain cards of Ho-Oh and Lugia. All of these can be received during the registration period, which begins this November.

Another update of the World Championships site features some of the rules of the Video Game World Championships. Among these is the notable new rule regarding legendary Pokémon. It is now confirmed that not all legendary Pokémon will be allowed to enter, with Pokémon that cannot be normally obtain in the main series games being ineligible. These are Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys (all Formes), Phione (an offspring of an event-only Pokémon), Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin (both Formes) and Arceus (all types). The legendary Pokémon no longer banned are Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina (both Formes). Of these Pokémon, only two at most may be used in the same team.
