Codes to obtain Marshadow will be available at retailers in North America and Europe in October this year.
In the United States, it will be available at GameStop stores from October 9 to 23, 2017. It will come with the Marshadium Z, which allows it to use its exclusive Z-Move, Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike.
PAL region codes will be available from participating stores which have yet to be announced.
- In the United Kingdom, it will be available at participating stores from October 1 to November 16, 2017.
- In France, it will be available at participating stores from October 1 to November 16, 2017.
- In Germany, it will be available at participating stores from October 1 to November 16, 2017.
- In Italy, it will be available at participating stores from October 1 to November 16, 2017.

Marshadow will be level 50 and know the moves Spectral Thief, Close Combat, Force Palm and Shadow Ball. The announcement says that it will hold a Marshadium Z, but it is more likely to be bundled with the Marshadium Z like the other event-exclusive Z-Crystals, since Z-Crystals that appear in the Bag to create held Z-Crystals cannot themselves be held.
