Pokémon GO Plus

The Pokémon GO Plus, originally announced for a release in late July, will now be released in September 2016.

The September 2016 has been announced by Nintendo Co. Ltd. (the Japanese branch), Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Canada, Nintendo of Europe, and Nintendo Australia & New Zealand. Notably, the late July release period had not been announced for Australia and New Zealand, but the September release period has been.

The Pokémon GO Plus is a peripheral for the freemium mobile game Pokémon GO. In a Pokémon GO Q&A at E3 2016, Shigeru Miyamoto surprised the panel by announcing that the Pokémon GO Plus would be released in late July 2016. This release period was then added to the official Pokémon website and announced by several retailers.

Pokémon GO was originally released in Australia, New Zealand and the United States on July 6, 2016 (although the release in Australia and New Zealand was significantly earlier due to time zones). Over the past month, it has been released in a number of locations, including Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and most European countries.

The Pokémon GO Plus will retail for $34.99 in the United States, $44.99 in Canada, £34.99 in the United Kingdom, €39.99 in the eurozone, and ¥3,500 in Japan.
