Battle of Hoenn international competition announced

The Battle of Hoenn online competition has been announced for international Global Link users. This competition is a Single Battles Wi-Fi tournament.
Players may register between midnight UTC on Jan. 15 and 11:59 p.m. UTC on Jan. 22. The tournament will run from midnight UTC on Jan. 23 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on Jan. 25. There are 50,000 total spots available, at a first-come first-serve basis. Players who are born in or after 2000 will be in the Junior/Senior Division. Junior Division players can only battle between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Players who are born in or before 1999 will be in the Master Division.
The battles must be done with the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. Players may only use Pokémon from the Hoenn Pokédex in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, and Deoxys may not be used on the team. The Pokémon must be bred, caught, or received via Wi-Fi or code distribution event in either Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby or Pokémon X and Y.
Pokémon cannot be brought over from the Gen. I through Gen V games. The teams must be registered in the Battle Box on the PC. All Pokémon will become level 50 for this tournament if they are over level 50. Each battle will take a maximum of 30 minutes. Players will have 90 seconds to choose which Pokémon they will battle with and will have 60 seconds for each turn. Players may battle up to 10 times a day. The rankings will be released on Jan. 30.
