Update:  Ken Sugimori has since replied affirmatively to a tweet asking if he would be attending the Nintendo World Store launch event.

Wish granted? Seems so.

Coming straight from the European release, Ken Sugimori has sent a tweet on Twitter saying simply: "Arrived in New York". Sugimori has since stated that he will be attending the Black and White launch event at the Nintendo World Store today. Though currently unknown if Junichi Masuda came with, the two were together at the London event. Many American fans were hoping that the developers would come to the New York event, and their wishes seem to be granted.

The New York event will take place at the Nintendo World Store on March 5 from 3pm to 6pm, and is open to the public. Grammy-award winning band "The Presidents of the United States of America" will be performing a new tribute song, "Can't Stop (Catchin' 'Em All)" live at the event; the studio recording can be heard here courtesy IGN.
