From Oct. 3-4, during the event Kyoto Cross Media Experience 2009 (also known as Kyoto CMEX 2009), a special Pikachu will be distributed to players of the Japanese Generation IV games Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver. Aside from it knowing the move Last Resort, no other information is available on this Pokémon.

Other than the Pikachu, players of HeartGold and SoulSilver will also be allowed to receive the Yellow Forest location via Mystery Gift's wireless feature. Fans will also be able to play Melee! Pokémon Scramble during the event.

Characters from the show Pokémon Sunday will also make guest appearances during the said event. Chief Lucario and Director Yamirami will come on Oct. 3 while Director Golgo and Dr. Red will be there on Oct. 4. More characters are also said to come.
