The Pokémon Oceania International Championships, the next International Championship to be run, will be held in Melbourne, Australia from March 10 to 12, 2017. The event will be held at the Melbourne Park Function Centre, the same location the Australian Pokémon National Championships were held in 2015 and 2016.

This event follows the recent European International Championships held in London from December 9 to 11, 2016. This will be the second International Championships. International Championships will also be held in North America and South America, although no further details are known about those tournaments.

The video game competition will use Pokémon Sun and Moon. Pokémon TCG players will compete using the Standard format, including cards from the upcoming Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon expansion.

International Championships are tournaments new to the 2017 Play! Pokémon season that replace National Championships from previous years. Unlike the Pokémon TCG National Championships of previous years, International Championships are open to players from anywhere in the world. The Pokémon International Championships are some of the largest competitions in the 2017 Pokémon Championship Series schedule, and winners will earn a high number of Championship Points toward a qualification to the 2017 Pokémon World Championships, which will be held in August 2017 in Anaheim, California in the United States.

For more details about International Championships, see the official Pokémon site.
