I'm very sorry
I thought blanking a userpage makes it slated fro deletion. I saw Turtwig A do it to PokeVillian, so I assumed. Please shorten the block. No doubt I deserve one, but a month? Alpha CuboneKing 20:54, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Articles
Look. Those articles were NOT properly formatted. Especially the Ranch one.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity* was here at 22:04, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- OK, go tell the other admins that they weren't good then. I know I'm not 100% certain on the 'news style, so I got two or three other users to look them over before I published them. I was happy. They were happy. The articles told the facts, and that's what matters.
- That Ranch one is actually in a worse state now. The way I wrote it gave a lot of background detail which made it clear exactly what the mailbag was, and gave some fan feedback which I think was really an essential part of the article; it's good to be reporting what the fans are thinking of this controversial topic. As the news is currently consistently late (rename to Bulbaolds, perhaps), they were genuine opinions and not something I made up to fill in space. Mentioning a few background details also helps to fill an otherwise short article out, and it will let readers know a few specifics about the update, in an attempt to actually help them understand the article. Furthermore, I deliberately did not use the quote template because of the autocategorization, which I'm not really a fan of. I didn't think it was necessary, not to mention you made a crap job of fixing that up. It really is worse off now.
- Anyway. I'm learning the ropes, I admit that. No one's perfect first time round. You ought be aware of that, Immewnity. —darklordtrom 23:23, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- First, you say "The articles told the facts", then contradict with "gave some fan feedback" and, even more, "they were genuine opinions". Opinions are not to be used in articles, unless the article is completely about fan reaction towards something, such as if a riot broke out at the Nintendo World Store due to a game not being released.
- "As the news is currently consistently late" - this may have something to do with the 2-3 active users on the site; tc26 and myself, occasionally Kevzo8.
- "so I got two or three other users to look them over" - were these users active BN writers? (Argy counts, but she would NEVER have let either of those through in that state)
- "I deliberately did not use the quote template because of the autocategorization" -

; easy as apple pie.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity* was here at 18:34, 24 October 2009 (UTC)- I hadn't considered it an opinion, I considered it reporting on what feedback I had seen on the few sites I had briefly scanned across. I apologise for trying to publish reactions to something obviously controversial.
- I also apologise for trying to increase the number of active newsies. If you didn't want me here you could have let me know before I started contributing.
- CoolPikachu! has written many more articles than I have. He gave them a look over, as did some of the other users I chat with on AIM. And "that state"? They were not terrible articles, Matt, and you know it.
- Didn't know that existed. In any case I've gone and categorized it now. I'm not partial to having millions of categories around the place but I figured that in the long run it might actually be useful.
- So yeah. There we go. Please stop ripping into my work now. —darklordtrom 03:58, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- I also apologise for trying to increase the number of active newsies. If you didn't want me here you could have let me know before I started contributing. - No, you got exactly the opposite of what I was trying to get to. The only reason I was a bit agitated was when the articles got moved to the mainspace without proper formatting.
- CoolPikachu! has written many more articles than I have. He gave them a look over, as did some of the other users I chat with on AIM. And "that state"? They were not terrible articles, Matt, and you know it. - I agree, they were not terrible articles. However, they were not correctly formatted at the time when you moved them.
- Please stop ripping into my work now. - It's a wiki. If you mean me editing your edits to an article, then please look into the definition of a wiki. I'm sorry if you are not happy due to myself trying to improve Bulbanews's reputation.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity* was here at 16:19, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for analysing my every sentence. Just because "it's a wiki" you don't have to pull everything to pieces. After I published this I saw Kogoro's note on your talk page. Give this a rest, dude, you could have offered advice on how to fix this but in any case I've moved along. If you wouldn't mind, the door is thataway. —darklordtrom 05:04, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

- Ah, right. IMO for the sake of consistency across the Bulbawiki network, roundy should be used over rborder. —darklordtrom 01:58, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- How bout we delete roundy and move rborder to roundy? It'd take so much less editing.--immewnitythemew 12:00, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Front page/Notice
You need to remove it from the Front page, ya know. Right now there's an ugly redlink.--immewnitythemew 12:09, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

The BW TCG thing
The source wasn't PokéBeach, it was some online retailer; collector_viper has the link. But yeah, it was old.--immewnitythemew 21:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- It had sourcelink=pokebeach, which is why I said that. The article we had was very much his. —darklordtrom 23:16, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry D:
I am so sorry for the edit conflict! I didn't realized until after I moved it D:. Apologies. Jello 10:02, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- That's okay! I managed to squeeze my edit in before you moved it. I can only imagine your surprise at seeing something completely different there once the move went through :D
- My title was probably totally lame, but you can move it again if you want. I'm not overly concerned. —darklordtrom 10:03, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- No it's alright, your version looks totally bad ass as always. Anyways, lol "realized" 6am does funny things to you. Jello 10:07, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

- It was submitted in the original draft for the article about the Pikachu balloon. —darklordtrom 23:27, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Then
Hey trom, you might wanna protect/or something to BW015 if you think it's not confirmed just in case. I only did because I had a source but may be you're right. Sorry, if I caused trouble ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:48, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's not just about having a source, it's about having a reliable source. When sourcing news for Bulbanews, think about who your source is, and who their source is, and whether they seem trustworthy. —darklordtrom 06:55, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- Have a question. Do you think it's worth drafting a news on Pokemon TV starts adding Hoenn episodes in their streaming library, on Pokemon.com? Thanks ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 09:48, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Suggestion
Hey Trom, since Bulbanews's front page is getting old now I think I've something that we can add to it, it may be a little thing though. Will it be good if we add a new option in the Small Bits section (below news in brief) about the weekly ratings of Best Wishes episodes on TV Tokyo.
- For example: 12月9日放送・ポケモンBWは視聴率8.3%(+1.9%) (rating about the last week's episode, we can use English if you want) etc. I think you're getting my point, that's the only way to explain it though. I don't know if anyone cares about it or not but I thought, a new thing won't hurt anyone. What do you think? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:56, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Just checking every Nintendo site I can find...
...and it seems at least Germany, Italy and Portugal are getting the Celebi event as well. In Germany, it's in various McDonald's between 18 Feb and 27 Feb, plus in some Pokémon Party event on 26th. I don't speak Italian or Portuguese so you might want to contact someone who does. If you feel we need a third news about quite much the same thing, go on, but I'd suggest to melt this into one of the other ones :p UltimateSephiroth 00:25, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, and I forgot to remove the template tagging from the word Celebi when copying text to the blurb, so it kinda broke up the news thread over at the forums. Sorry 'bout that :/ UltimateSephiroth 00:28, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- Also, missed Brazil and Canada. UltimateSephiroth 00:42, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Report
Actually I saw that no one reported it before i did, and messily? That's your opinion, it wasn't messily written. Playerking95 06:44, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- You filled out the new article form messily. The article itself wasn't too bad, but the rest of it...
{{Article| type=news | picture=http://pokebeach.com/news/0211/victini-and-the-light-hero-reshiram.jpg | [shouldn't be hotlinking to PokéBeach] caption=Reshiram to also get a movie on the 16th of July, 2011. | weekday=Saturday | day=12 | month=2 | year=2011 | time=05:02:42 | discusstype=bmgf | [this should initially be left blank, and should only be used to link to Bulbagarden (hence the "bmgf")] discusslink=http://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1055469655 | [again, this should usually be left blank] sourcetype=bulbanews | sourcename= | [you didn't put your own name] sourcelink= | tagline=The Deep Black Pokemon, Zekrom and the Vast White Pokemon Reshiram, will get their own movie for Movie 14 | blurb=Version exclusives, Reshiram and Zekrom, to get their own Pokemon movie for Best Wishes Movie 1. }} [not proper grammar] {{CategorizeIn|Anime|2|11}} The two version different Pokemon.... [cut off so it doesn't stretch my screen; this part was mostly okay]
- Hopefully you can see my criticisms in the text above. Note also for the title that numbers should be spelled out and only the first word and proper nouns get capital letters. You may want to read over the manual of style and article submission guide.
- Additionally, I was already writing my own report when I found yours; I deleted the misspelled title first and left the other one until afterward. Sorry for any inconvenience and better luck with your future submissions. —darklordtrom 07:04, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
Reply
I'm not really familiar with mediawiki, and don't know whether you get notified when I reply on my own user page, so here goes again: That's right, excluding the mention if the footer it wasn't very clear indeed. Well, I'll give a try to a short short bio:
Hercules Papatheodorou or Arty2 as known over the tubes, is by profession an architect based in Greece, but has been spending a very large chunk of his time on the Pokemon fandom ever since it became popular. He's mostly known for making the fansite Legendary Pokemon and his Open Source IV calculator. Last but not least, he hates talking about himself.
Feel free to tailor it as appropriate :] Arty2 08:57, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
About the source
I know the PR exists. Just, where? I got it secondhand, so I'm not sure whether a forum post is OK. I would really prefer a real PR article. The exact text is like this:
NEW POKÉMON VIDEO GAMES SHATTER U.S. SALES RECORDS
Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version Combine to Sell More Than 1 Million in a Single Day
REDMOND, Wash., March 8, 2011 – Two new Pokémon™ video games went on sale on March 6 and promptly shattered all previous U.S. Pokémon sales records. The Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems became the fastest-selling Pokémon video games of all time, selling more than 1.08 million units after just one day of availability. That surpasses the previous one-day sales record of more than 780,000 set by the Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version games in April 2007.
"Longtime Pokémon fans are attracted to the new Pokémon, new battle systems and a new region to explore, while newcomers enjoy the ability to jump in and have fun right away," said Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America's senior director of Corporate Communications. "These sales numbers illustrate the continued strength of the Nintendo DS family of systems. Already established as the nation's best-selling video game platform of all time, the installed base of more than 47 million makes it the ideal hand-held for developers to reach a huge gaming-focused target audience."
Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version feature more than 150 new Pokémon for players to catch, train and battle. The never-before-seen Unova region gives players a whole new world to explore. For the first time in the series, in-game environments change with the four seasons. The games also introduce Triple Battles and Rotation Battles, which give players even more choices when battling.
