The following is an April Fools 2006 joke originally posted on Pokeani. As of yet no Mysterious Dungeon anime has been planned.

Released in November 2005 with 1.4 million copies sold, Pokémon Mysterious Dungeon will become a spinoff anime, beginning with a two hour anime special to be aired in July ahead of the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

The plot will follow the game closely, with a boy-turned-Pikachu as the main character and an Eevee as his partner. It seems that the Pokémon characters will be able to speak, as in the game.
