A new update for Pokémon GO that brings the game to version 0.49.1 (labelled 1.19.1 on the iOS App Store) is currently being rolled out for iOS and Android. This means that it will not be available for every device right now, but will over the next few days.

This update allows the player to transfer multiple Pokémon to Professor Willow at once by pressing and holding a Pokémon.

It also adds Pokémon type icons to the Pokémon selection screen before a Gym battle, as well as the screen during a Gym battle.

Additionally, the game now shows the total distance walked with a Buddy Pokémon on the Buddy Pokémon and Pokémon status screens. This is accompanied by the total Candy the player has for the current Buddy Pokémon's species now being displayed on the Buddy Pokémon screen.

Patch notes

  • Trainers will be able to transfer multiple Pokémon at a time to Professor Willow. To use this function, press and hold on a Pokémon.
  • Pokémon type icons have been added to the Gym battle approach and Gym battle screen.
  • The total Candy count for your Buddy Pokémon has been added to the buddy information screen.
  • The total kilometers a buddy has walked has been added to the information screen of each Pokémon that has ever been your buddy.
  • Minor text fixes.
