{{bp|Super Smash Bros.}} was released on the North American {{bp|Wii|Virtual Console}} last December 21st for 1,000 Nintendo Points. The game was released earlier in the year for European and Japanese consoles. The game was originally released on the {{bp|Nintendo 64}} console.


Super Smash Bros. is a fighting game featuring multiple characters from several of {{bp|Nintendo}}'s franchises, including Pokémon. These include characters {{bp|Pokémon}} such as {{p|Pikachu}} and {{p|Jigglypuff}}. As well as other characters from {{wp|Mario (series)|Mario}}, {{wp|The Legend of Zelda}}, {{wp|Star Fox (series)|Star Fox}}, {{wp|Kirby (series)|Kirby}}, {{wp|EarthBound (series)|Earthbound}}, and many more.
After nearly a year since its Japanese {{bp|Wii|Virtual Console}} debut, the North American version of {{bp|Super Smash Bros.}} has been released on the Wii Shop Channel.

The game, originally for the {{bp|Nintendo 64}} system, is the first in what has become a trilogy of games featuring no-holds barred matches between classic Nintendo characters from its many franchises, with the second and third installments, {{bp|Super Smash Bros. Melee}} and {{bp|Super Smash Bros. Brawl}}, originally being released for the {{bp|Nintendo GameCube}} and Wii in 2001 and 2008, respectively.
 
The original game features two playable characters from the Pokémon series, {{p|Pikachu}} and the unlockable {{p|Jigglypuff}}, as well as {{wp|Mario}}, {{wp|Donkey Kong}}, {{wp|Link (The Legend of Zelda)|Link}}, {{wp|Samus Aran}}, {{wp|Yoshi}}, {{wp|Kirby (character|Kirby}}, and {{wp|Fox McCloud}}, with {{wp|Luigi}}, {{wp|Captain Falcon}}, and {{wp|EarthBound#Characters|Ness}} as unlockables.
