Viz will begin releasing the Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Adventure! manga by Shigekatsu Ihara in the United States this year. Volume 1 (ISBN: 978-1421522869) will be released April 1, and the second volume (ISBN: 978-1421522876) will come July 1.

Each volume will contain 192 pages and will retail for $7.99. The first volume's description provides a series summary:

"Set in the country Sinnoh, the story follows the adventures of Hareta, a young boy raised in the wild with Pokémon. Recruited by Prof. Rowan, he decides to become a Pokémon trainer after catching his first tame one, Piplup. He and the Professor's assistant, Mitsumi, set off on a quest to find Dialga, one of the three "Legendary" Pokémon, which is rumored to be able to control time. But Team Galactic, lead by villainous Cyrus, is hunting for Dialga too."

Also in July, Viz will be releasing another book by Ihara, "Fun with Pokémon," that is 28 pages and is targeted to children ages 4-8. Ihara's previous Pokémon works, not released in the United States, are the Pocket Monsters Emerald Challenge!! Battle Frontier series and the manga adaptation of the eighth movie, Mew and the Wave-Guiding Hero: Lucario. It also appears that he will be illustrating the manga adaptation of the 11th movie, Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin.

Despite the title, this Diamond and Pearl manga is not part of the Pokémon Adventures (Pokémon Special) series.
