The official worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Y has begun, with midnight releases in Australia.
The games, which mark the beginning of Generation VI, are the first in the franchise to be released across the world on the same day, and mark a much-anticipated transition to 3D for the main series.
The worldwide release has not been without hiccups, however, with a number of retailers breaking street date, resulting in some players getting to experience the games early. While Bulbagarden will begin full coverage of game content at this time due to the games now being officially available, such information here on Bulbanews will remain behind spoiler tags until the games are available all across the world.
Spoiler Warning! Major plot or ending details may follow!
New Pokémon
Generation VI introduces at least 69 new Pokémon. It is possible that the true number may be slightly higher, due to event-exclusive Pokémon not catchable in X and Y, but these are the new Pokémon known to exist.
